I suggest allowing accounts to have parent/child relationships. That way when I look at my P&L I can see my 7111-7114 accounts under 7110, but see my 7115 and 7120 on their own.

This is now available for customers and vendors: https://www.clarityaccounting.com/help/index.php/2009/04/14/importing-contacts/
Also bank statements can be imported via CSV.
To import a chart of accounts you can use the Trial Balance import. First opt into beta features from your Settings and go to the Accounts section and click the trial balance import link.
We’d love to see some more example Excel or CSV files to import – there are many ways to format an Excel/CSV file for bookkeeping and we need to know whether we’ve got our bases covered. We just need the column headings and a sample of the data included in each column.
Thanks!

We would like to be able to import to the Accounts via excel/csv.

We agree this is a good idea and we hope that more people will vote for this feature. Our development time line is largely based on our most popular feature requests! If you know other online businesses that can benefit from using Clarity Accounting, send them to our feature request page and vote it up to the top of the chart! :)

@jtorrington I agree on the soft close. An administrator should be allowed to make changes if necessary, but close the records from the staff.
